Job Description:

This role is designed to collect and manage outstanding invoices, ensuring timely payment from business-to-business (B2B) customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to negotiate customer payment terms as needed.

The Accounts Receivable Representative will manage a collections portfolio ranging from 300 to 600 accounts, with a focus on Canadian and/or US territory of accounts. They will also develop and maintain relationships with customer accounts, championing the company's receivable policy and ensuring compliance with established procedures.

In addition to collecting payments, the successful candidate will work closely with internal sales reps to proactively troubleshoot payment issues, such as invoicing, pricing, and product/service issues. They will also document and track collections activity, using data from monthly aging reports to inform their decisions.

The ideal candidate will have a college diploma in Accounting or Finance, or related experience, and at least two years of experience in corporate B2B collections. They will be highly motivated, resourceful, and a team player, with excellent time management and organizational skills.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Contact business-to-business (B2B) customers via phone, email, or fax to discuss outstanding invoices and billing issues
  • Manage a collections portfolio ranging from 300 to 600 accounts
  • Negotiate customer payment terms as needed based on assessment of account status
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customer accounts and champion Softchoice's receivable policy
  • Work with internal sales reps to proactively troubleshoot payment issues
  • Document and track collections activity
  • Reconcile accounts regularly

Requirements:
  • A completed college diploma in Accounting or Finance or related experience
  • At least two years of experience in corporate B2B collections
  • Experience working in a fast-paced IT sales environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills
