Facilities Manager Job Description

A Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the proper execution and upkeep of all building systems, facilities, and equipment. This includes supervising, monitoring, and managing technical staff to ensure routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks are completed on time.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of building equipment and systems, ensuring a smooth transition into operational mode.
  • Attend project meetings to provide input and raise potential operational concerns, fostering collaboration and open communication among team members.
  • Develop and update equipment databases, maintaining accurate records for efficient maintenance and repair.
  • Create comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules, anticipating potential issues and preventing costly downtime.
  • Compile detailed profiles of buildings, including critical information about their layout, systems, and equipment.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, identifying and selecting qualified candidates to join the facilities management team.
  • Oversee the consolidation of engineering permits and licenses, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Registered Electrical or Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in facilities management.
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience, with a proven track record of successfully managing facilities teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of building facilities and equipment management, as well as customer service, communication, and computer skills.
  • Decisive and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
