Job Role Overview

The Senior Network Engineer's role involves providing operational support for the global network environment. They will provide proactive and reactive support for all network hardware, software, and communication links.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to Project or Demand Managers based on requirements to integrate a network setup.
  • Develop solutions to complex problems with well-planned documentation.
  • Complete preventative maintenance activities such as code updates & equipment updates.
  • Manage incident management, problem management, change management & capacity management.
  • Deliver assigned projects and program components to meet established objectives.
  • Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors etc. to provide technical assistance and support.
  • Ensure security and audit compliance.
  • Perform operational-related moves, adds, changes, and deletes (MACD).
  • Adhere to operational standards.
  • Comply with engineering design standards and established operational processes.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of operational documentation, including updating engineering documentation changes due to operational changes, escalation procedures & vendor contracts.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for network events.
Technical Skills Required
  • Networking technologies: DNS, DHCP, VPN, network security, IP routing protocols.
  • Cisco networking technologies: routing & switching, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Cisco wireless technology.
  • Meraki wireless technology.
  • Palo Alto firewalls.

This role requires extensive experience in supporting Cisco networking technologies, strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills, practical technical knowledge on CISCO networking technologies, ITIL Ver. 3.0 or Ver. 4.0 preferred, ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, strong organizational skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced working environment, high-level technology problem-solving skills, ability to stand and sit for sustained periods of time at least 25%, and occasional travel up to 25%.
