Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Specialist

This role involves designing, developing, and implementing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects and activities across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in WASH-related fields, with experience working on similar projects in developing countries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical guidance for effective implementation and quality of WASH projects globally, including defining technical specifications and supervision of WASH infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and act as an advocate to raise awareness of the needs of children and prioritize child protection considerations in all decision-making tasks.
  • Uphold Compassion's core Cultural Behaviors.
  • Promote capacity development to National office specialists in emerging areas of interest in WASH programming.
  • Represent the organization and present WASH technical programs at relevant forums.
  • Write technical components related to WASH for proposal development and support annual WASH Work Plans.
  • Collaborate with other Global Design Specialists in designing WASH solutions in disaster contexts.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a WASH-related field.
  • Master's degree preferred in a WASH-related or International Development field.
  • 10+ years of experience working in this or a similar position or field.
  • Advisor-level experience with a WASH program in a developing country is desirable.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
