Senior Embedded Linux Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Linux Engineer to lead our team in delivering innovative solutions. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience with Linux and embedded systems, as well as strong problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and significant experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto). Additionally, they should be familiar with open-source communities and licenses, as well as programming languages such as C and C++.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
  • Work with partners to deliver a high-quality Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
  • Take a holistic approach to the Ubuntu experience on partner platforms, providing inputs on technical plans, testing strategies, and quality metrics.
  • Participate as a technical lead on complex customer engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge.
  • Assist customers in integrating their apps, SDKs, building device OS images, and optimizing applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto).
  • Experience working with open-source communities and licenses.
  • Experience working with C and C++.
  • Ability to work in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with graphics stacks.
  • Good understanding of networking - TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP/REST.
  • Basic understanding of security best practices in IoT or server environments.
  • Good communication skills, ideally public speaking experience.
  • IoT / Embedded experience – from board and SoC, BMCs, bootloaders and firmware to OS, through apps and services.
