Job Title: Senior Linux Security Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Linux security expert to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to utilize your knowledge of software engineering and cryptography to develop and maintain secure systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with other engineers in the Security Hardening team to achieve and retain various Security certifications.
  • Cryptography Component Enhancement: Extend and enhance Linux cryptographic components (OpenSSL, Libgcrypt, GnuTLS, and others) with the features and functionality required for FIPS and CC certification.
  • Security Testing and Validation: Collaborate with external security consultants to test and validate kernel and crypto module components.
  • Security Benchmarking and Automation: Work with external partners to develop security hardening benchmarks and audit + remediation automation for Ubuntu.
  • Mainline and Upstream Contributions: Contribute to Ubuntu mainline and upstream projects to land solutions and benefit the community.
Requirements:
  • Low-Level Cryptography Expertise: Hands-on experience with low-level Linux cryptography APIs and debugging.
  • Software Engineering Fundamentals: Excellent software engineering fundamentals, including prior experience with C development, and the ability to demonstrate such.
  • Linux System Administration: Hands-on experience with Linux system administration and shell scripting.
  • Security and Cryptography Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of security and cryptography fundamentals + direct experience writing secure code and implementing best practices.
