We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of specialist Python tools that support the day-to-day workflow of thousands of snap, rock and charm publishers.


About the Role:
  • You will be responsible for designing, maintaining and extending the snap build ecosystem using your expertise in Python, Packaging and Linux.
  • You will work closely with external open source and commercial projects to understand how we can better serve community needs.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Develop Specialist Tools: Create custom Python tools to streamline the developer build and publication process.
  2. Collaborate with External Projects: Work with open source and commercial projects to identify opportunities to improve our services.
  3. Extend the Snap Build Ecosystem: Use your technical expertise to enhance the snap build ecosystem and provide innovative solutions.

Requirements:
  • Proven expertise in Python programming.
  • Strong understanding of modern GNU/Linux distributions.
  • Good knowledge of build systems and toolchains, including cross-compilation.
  • Familiarity with container technology such as Docker, Kubernetes and LXD.
