Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Data Scientist - Mid. As a key member of our Strategic Analytics team, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative predictive models and analytical tools to drive business growth and efficiency.

About the Role

This position involves working closely with experienced modelers to build predictive models and analytic solutions using Python or R. You will apply various techniques such as GLM, decision trees, GBM, and NLP to analyze complex data sets and develop advanced ad hoc queries to investigate anomalies and summarize data for pattern detection.

Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis: Manipulate large data sets using R or SQL Server, develop Python or R functions and SQL stored procedures to automate recurring tasks, and create dashboards in Power BI to facilitate analyses that support modeling efforts or enable model usage.
  • Model Development: Collaborate with modelers to build predictive models, create and maintain documentation associated with models, assist in implementation and testing of models, and monitor their performance and usage.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 3 years' experience in predictive modeling using tools such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working in the insurance industry is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent critical thinking skills, ability to effectively communicate technical topics to different target audiences, and exposure to OCR, NLP, and image analytics.
Education

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
