Software Release Engineer Job Description

The Software Release Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth deployment of software releases for our clients.

About This Role

This position is part of the newly established Release Management Hub team in Makati (Metro Manila). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing software releases for clients based in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Key Responsibilities
  • Release Planning: Involved in planning and rollout of various Avaloq products in controlled environments.
  • Delivery Accountability: End-to-end accountability for the successful delivery of releases into live environments.
  • Release Scope Validation: Accountable for release scope validation with project managers and delivery managers.
  • Techncial Validation: Ensures technical validation of all releases are completed and reported for Go Live.
  • Implementation Plan: Create and manage implementation plan, release meetings and production cutover.
  • Software Packaging: Taking responsibility for software packaging, code merge and log analysis of Avaloq core and front platforms.
  • Cross-Domain Collaboration: Collaborating with specialists of different areas for the implementation of cross-domain activities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Building trustworthy relations with internal and external stakeholders as developers, Project Managers, Test Managers and Client Managers.
  • Documentation and Training: Document and educate users on release, configuration, DevOps, and deployment management best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Release Management and/or Configuration Management, ideally in the banking and financial services industry.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Unix, Oracle, SQL, Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus, Gerrit, Bitbucket or other source code management tools.
  • Soft Skills: Conflict resolution, stakeholder management, experience in multi-cultural matrix teams.
  • Languages: Good written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Avaloq Knowledge: Knowledge about Avaloq Front Platform, Mobile Application releases.
  • Agile Methodologies: Agile / Oracle Cloud / ITIL certified.
  • Containerization: Shell scripting, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Container Platform.
