Linux Automation Specialist Role

The primary goal of this position is to lead the design and implementation of Linux deployment automation strategies, utilizing expertise in Ansible, CI/CD pipelines. This role focuses on creating efficient and streamlined processes for deploying Linux systems within IT infrastructure and cloud hyperscalers (AWS/GCP), optimizing productivity and scalability.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain a linux automation engine responsible for the deployment of all VMs and Cloud VMs.
  • Collaborate with application teams to establish linux OS standards and templates for their apps.
  • Ensure that solutions are scalable, highly available, and secure.
  • Understand and implement best practices for infrastructure as code and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues during implementation phase in a timely manner.
  • Continuously monitor and improve infrastructure and application performance.
  • Keep up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends in infrastructure design and management.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Preferably with Master's degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in Linux technologies and deployments.
  • 6+ years of experience in infrastructure design and implementation.
  • 5+ years' experience in managing the lifecycle of infrastructure architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Strong knowledge of Ansible, Git, Terraform and AWX.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (RH/SUSE) with certifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS, Azure and with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
