Release Manager Job Description

This role is responsible for planning and rollout of various software releases in controlled environments. The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of releases into live environments, ensuring technical validation of all releases are completed and reported for Go Live.

  • The release manager will work closely with project managers and delivery managers to ensure scope validation and implementation plan creation.
  • Responsibilities include creating and managing implementation plans, release meetings, and production cutover. Additionally, they will take responsibility for software packaging, code merge, and log analysis of Avaloq core and front platforms.
  • The selected candidate will collaborate with specialists from different areas for cross-domain activities and build trustworthy relations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • They will also document and educate users on release, configuration, DevOps, and deployment management best practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in release management and/or configuration management, preferably in the banking and financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of Unix, Oracle, SQL, Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus, Gerrit, Bitbucket, or other source code management tools is essential.
  • Conflict resolution, stakeholder management, and experience in multi-cultural matrix teams are valuable skills.
  • Good written and spoken English is required.
