Senior Network Engineer\

About the Role:

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for providing operational support for our global network environment. This includes proactive and reactive support for all network hardware, software, and communication links.

This role will involve coordinating with project managers and using network management systems to document and implement new requests. Responsibilities include responding to ticket requests and incident notifications, and resolving issues within established service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support to project managers based on requirements to integrate a network setup.
  • Solving complex problems with well-planned documentation.
  • Completing preventative maintenance activities, such as code updates and equipment updates.
  • Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
  • Responding to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.
  • Ensuring security and audit compliance.
  • Maintaining operational-related moves, adds, changes, and deletes (MACD).
  • Adhering to operational standards.
  • Complying with engineering design standards and established operational processes.
  • Participating in the development and maintenance of operational documentation, including updating engineering documentation changes due to operational changes, escalation procedures, and vendor contracts.
  • Providing root cause analysis for network events.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Networking technologies: DNS, DHCP, VPN, network security, IP routing protocols.
  • Cisco networking technologies: routing and switching, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Cisco wireless.
  • Meraki wireless.
  • Palo Alto firewalls.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of extensive experience in supporting Cisco networking technologies.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Practical technical knowledge of CISCO networking technologies.
  • ITIL v3.0 or v4.0 preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced working environment.
  • High-level technology problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to stand and sit for sustained periods of time (at least 25%).
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • CCNA/CCNP certifications are also required.
