Job Title: Embedded Linux Senior Software Engineer

This challenging position demands technical expertise, problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering innovative solutions across diverse technologies.

  • Develop and implement Ubuntu integration for cutting-edge IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with partners to deliver exceptional, optimized Ubuntu experiences on their platforms.
  • Assess the Ubuntu experience on partner platforms, providing input on technical plans, testing strategies and quality metrics.
  • Lead complex customer engagements involving comprehensive system architectures from cloud to edge.
  • Support customers in integrating their apps, SDKs, building device OS images and optimizing applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop and Server.
Requirements:
  • Enjoy technology and collaborating with like-minded individuals.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM or similar field.
  • Experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto).
  • Experience working with open source communities and licenses.
  • Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages.
  • Ability to work effectively in globally distributed teams through self-discipline and motivation.
Additional Skills:
  • Experience with graphics stacks.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals - TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP/REST.
  • Basic knowledge of security best practices in IoT or server environments.
  • Effective communication skills, ideally public speaking experience.
  • IoT/embedded experience - from board and SoC, BMCs, bootloaders, firmware to OS, through apps and services.
