Job Title: Financial Accountant

IBM seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented financial accountant to join our team. As a financial accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:
  • General Ledger Accounting: Prepare and post journal entries, maintain balance sheet accounts, and perform account reconciliations.
  • Data Verification: Participate in regular data verification checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • GL Data Input: Input data within the General Ledger system and collaborate with different teams to understand their data requirements.
  • Data Inconsistencies: Monitor and perform correction of data inconsistencies or discrepancies found in the GL system.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries into the General Ledger system and ensure timely task execution with attention to quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years work experience in Finance and Accounting, with at least 1 year in General Accounting.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting concepts and principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of account reconciliation, identifying reconciling items and resolution, journal entry processing, and month-end close activities.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP/US GAAP; IFRS is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and teamwork skills.
