Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a skilled Proofreader to join our team and ensure the quality of romance novels. As part of this role, you will be responsible for reviewing manuscripts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proofread manuscripts for accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain consistency in voice, formatting, and dialogue flow.
  • Double-check continuity across POVs, timelines, and character details.
  • Flag potential errors or inconsistencies for review.
  • Provide actionable feedback through tracked changes and editorial notes.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of professional proofreading/copyediting experience in contemporary romance.
  • 2+ published romance novels proofread (please provide links or ISBNs).
  • Advanced command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting.
  • Eye for detail and deep respect for the genre's pacing and emotional beats.
  • Organized, reliable, and able to balance multiple manuscripts at once.
What We Offer:
