Payroll Specialist

About the Role:

This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our global workforce.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees in various countries, including the US, Canada, and Australia.
  • Upload Canada and Australia payroll data into third-party vendor systems.
  • Process US payroll using Workday.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely receipt of payroll data.
  • Review and approve hourly timecards in conjunction with managers.
  • Analyze payrolls for all pay groups to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records for new hires, employee changes, leave of absence, and terminations.
  • Comply with state final pay requirements for termination payments.
  • Respond to unemployment claims in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the payroll inbox and respond to email inquiries promptly.
  • Participate in Year End reconciliation and Year Begin preparation.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum 2-4 years of dedicated U.S. payroll experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities, particularly in understanding tax laws related to payroll.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Experience working with India payroll, Canada and Australia payroll, and Employer of Record (EOR) payroll.
  • Familiarity with local payroll tax filings and statutory compliance in various countries.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
Skill Enhancements:
  • Global payroll experience, including APAC regions like Singapore and China.
  • Proficiency in Google applications (Gmail, Slack, Google Sheets).
