About the Role

This position involves reviewing plans, taking measurements, and creating detailed estimates of scope for construction projects. The estimate serves a critical role in defining the project management team's scope of work and controlling costs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Gather and organize all project-related information to ensure successful project execution.
  • Identify missing or conflicting scope details that may impact project constructability.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for various aspects of commercial construction projects using On Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam software.
  • Assist with construction document review, redlining, and requests for information.
  • Digital takeoffs using OST, Bluebeam, or similar tools to highlight project scope.
  • Estimate components of the scope of work, including materials, labor, and equipment required to complete the project using Microsoft Excel.
  • Maintain open communication with the project management team and work collaboratively to review and finalize takeoffs.
  • Input takeoffs into an estimate in Excel or similar software for use in the buyout and execution phases.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, business, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred but not required based on experience and aptitude.
  • Familiarity with construction processes and components is essential.
  • Commercial construction experience across multiple trades is highly valued.
  • Experience working with U.S.-based clients is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Planswift, and electronic takeoff software is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to produce high-quality work are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and data analysis skills are required.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, multitasking, prioritization, and effective communication are essential skills.
