Job Overview

The primary function of a Construction Estimator involves reviewing plans, performing takeoffs and creating detailed estimates for the scope of work. This role plays a pivotal part in defining project parameters and controlling construction costs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and organize project information to identify missing or conflicting scope details.
  • Analyze project data to ensure successful constructability.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for commercial construction projects using specialized software such as On Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam.
  • Collaborate with the project management team on construction document review, redlining and requests for information.
  • Estimate components of the scope of work, including material, labor and equipment required to complete projects.
  • Maintain open communication with the project management team to ensure seamless project execution.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A degree in construction, engineering, business management/finance/accounting or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction components and their construction processes.
  • Experience working on commercial construction projects across multiple trades is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with US-based clients is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic takeoff software.
