Job Title: Cost Estimator Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Estimator Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the project management team, you will play a crucial role in defining the scope of work and controlling construction costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and organize project information for accurate cost estimation.
  • Identify missing or conflicting scope/detail to ensure successful constructability and minimize project risks.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for commercial construction projects using industry-standard software such as On-Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam.
  • Assist with construction document review, redlining, and requests for information to ensure timely completion.
  • Estimate components of the scope of work, including material, labor, and equipment, using Microsoft Excel and existing cost information.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the project management team and stakeholders through open communication and collaboration.
  • Work closely with the team to review and finalize takeoffs and estimates.
Requirements:
  • Preferred degree in construction, engineering, business management/finance/accounting, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of construction components and how they are constructed is essential.
  • Commercial construction experience across multiple trades is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Planswift, and electronic takeoff software is necessary.
  • Ability to understand and learn/interpret construction drawings, specifications, and renderings is required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work is essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel and electronic takeoff software is necessary.
