Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Classification Expert to join our team. As a member of our Global Classification Center of Excellence, you will be responsible for reviewing the technical properties of goods and assigning the proper import classification based on the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with clients to understand their products and provide accurate classification information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze the technical characteristics of goods to determine proper import classifications.
  • Work with clients to understand their products and provide accurate classification information.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and other relevant regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless classification processes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree in a relevant field such as chemistry, biology, or chemical engineering.
  • Relevant experience in biotechnology, medical technology, and/or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Skills

The following skills would be an asset in this role:

  • Proficiency with MS Windows, word processing, databases, and spreadsheet software.
  • Familiarity with export control classification knowledge and procedures.
  • Fluency in English; fluency in Spanish desirable.
