Senior Credit Risk Professional

The Senior Credit Risk Officer, VP is a leadership role within the Commercial Lending Management Unit under the Institutional Credit Management (ICM) umbrella.

This position is responsible for end-to-end wholesale credit risk management across products, clusters and lines of business, providing controls and support to help reduce risks.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in credit risk assessment, analysis, and mitigation, with experience in portfolio management and risk-based decision making.

The role involves assessing quality of assigned portfolios, including identification and evaluation of emerging risks, and ensuring that Corrective Action Plans are appropriate, monitored and duly validated.

Additionally, the Senior Credit Risk Officer will provide autonomous assessment of the accuracy and appropriateness of risk ratings and classifications of the assigned portfolios, and demonstrate quality assurance activities as a Subject Matter Expert.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing effectiveness of credit risk processes and standards of assigned entities to promote leading practices and identify opportunities for improvements
  • Reviewing and assessing the appropriateness, completeness and usage trends of credit risk components of the Risk Appetite framework for the assigned portfolios
  • Providing autonomous assessment of the accuracy and appropriateness of risk ratings and classifications of the assigned portfolios
  • Ensuring that Fundamental Credit Risk documents meet quality and consistency standards
  • Keeping Fundamental Credit Risk senior management informed of any concerns and/or emerging risks that may jeopardize their Review Entities
  • Adequately assessing risk when business decisions are made, driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets

Qualifications for this role include:

  • 6-10 years relevant experience
  • Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources
  • Exercises wide degree of latitude and discretion

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
