Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Property Accountant to oversee financial operations for short-term rental properties.

  • Manage daily accounting tasks, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance across multiple platforms such as Airbnb, Vrbo, and other vacation rental channels.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing daily accounting operations for multiple short-term rental properties.
  2. Reconciling bank accounts, merchant accounts, and booking platform payouts.
  3. Tracking income, occupancy taxes, fees, and commissions from various rental platforms.
  4. Preparing monthly financial statements and cash flow reports.
  5. Coordinating with property managers or hosts regarding budget adherence and expense tracking.
  6. Managing accounts payable/receivable and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
  7. Maintaining accurate records for audits and tax filings, including transient occupancy tax (TOT) or similar.
  8. Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning specific to seasonal rental cycles.
  9. Utilizing accounting and property management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Guesty, Hostaway, etc.).
Requirements:
  • Accounting experience, preferably in the short-term rental or hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel; experience with short-term rental tools is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple properties/accounts.
