Senior Network Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our global network infrastructure.

Your primary focus will be on providing operational support for our network environment, including proactive and reactive support for all network hardware, software, and communication links. You will work closely with our Project or Demand Managers to integrate new clients, design and implement new offices, and integrate network technologies.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing solutions to complex problems with well-planned documentation;
  • Completing preventative maintenance activities, such as code updates and equipment upgrades;
  • Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives;
  • Responding to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support;
  • Ensuring security and audit compliance;
  • Performing operational-related moves, adds, changes, and deletes (MACD);
  • Adhering to operational standards;
  • Complying with engineering design standards and established operational processes;
  • Participating in the development and maintenance of operational documentation;
  • Providing root cause analysis for network events;

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in the support of Cisco Networking Technologies;
  • Strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills;
  • Practical technical knowledge on CISCO Networking Technologies;
  • ITIL Ver. 3.0 or Ver. 4.0 preferred;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced working environment;
  • High-level technology problem-solving skills;
  • Standing and sitting for sustained periods of time;
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time;
