Medical File Reviewer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical File Reviewer to join our organization.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and preparing medical files, as well as remotely assisting medical providers during scheduled appointments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare case files and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQ) assigned in the client portal.
  • Review and bookmark medical records and create a synopsis in order to answer medical opinion questions, if needed, based on the veteran's medical history.
  • Remotely assist the medical provider during a scheduled appointment of a veteran by accessing, navigating, and preparing different apps in the medical provider's computer in the exam room prior to the scheduled appointment.
  • Remotely interview the veteran via the approved video or telephone conference platform.
  • Transcribe the medical history based on the veteran's answers to the questions in the DBQ.
  • Remotely assist the medical provider by documenting all the physical examination findings in the appropriate section of the DBQs.
  • Complete all the sections of the DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment.
  • Meet with medical providers to discuss each assigned case in order to determine the final diagnosis per DBQ and for approval of medical opinions.
  • Transfer data from the DBQ spreadsheet to the client portal.
  • Submit DBQs in the client portal.
  • Answer queries/addendum reports from the client's QAs.
  • Coordinate with the medical providers and other team members regarding the scheduled appointments per day.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), active PHRN license.
  • Excellent communication skills to assist veterans, medical providers, and colleagues effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility in adapting to changing work schedules as needed.
  • Accountability for all assigned cases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Assist the Lead and/or Trainer in process improvement.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Computer Specifications:
  • Fiber connection with a minimum download speed of 20mbps and upload speed of 20mbps.
  • A backup internet connection with a minimum download speed of 15mbps and upload speed of 15mbps.
  • Main desktop/laptop: i5 to i7 processor, 8GB RAM, 4th generation or above.
  • Backup desktop/laptop: i3 to i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 4th generation or above.
