Senior Financial Leadership Role

The position of Senior Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations for a multi-entity group structure. This encompasses managing entity-level and group-wide financial processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic alignment within the media and entertainment sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounts Receivable: Oversight of quote preparation, invoicing, and payment reminders for revenue streams specific to each entity.
  • Accounts Payable: Management of purchase orders (POs) and payout scheduling for each entity.
  • Reconciliation: Performance of payment and payout reconciliations for entity transactions.
  • Manual Journals: Recording of entity-specific transactions and adjustment of profit and loss (P/L) and balance sheet (B/S) movements.
  • Expense Approvals: Implementation of authorisation controls for entity expenses.
  • Payment Approvals: Oversight of authorisation controls for entity payments.
  • Procurement: Establishment of financial controls for entity-specific purchase orders and approvals.
  • Statutory Reporting: Preparation of quarterly business activity statements (BAS) and annual returns for each entity.
  • Management Reporting: Preparation of entity-level profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Revenue Recognition: Implementation of entity-specific revenue recognition rules.
  • Budget Setting & Variances: Development and approval of budgets for each entity.
  • Forecasting: Preparation of financial forecasts for each entity.
  • Depreciation & Amortisation: Management of schedules for entity-specific tangible and intangible assets.
  • Payroll: Oversight of entity-specific payroll processing, superannuation, and PAYG compliance.
  • Commission Management: Administration of entity-specific commission and bonus schedules.
  • Project-Based Accounting: Tracking of revenue and costs for entity-specific projects.
  • Intellectual Property (IP): Valuation and amortization of entity-specific IP assets.
  • Vendor & Talent Payment Management: Management of payments to entity-specific vendors, freelancers, and talent.
  • Intercompany Transactions: Management of eliminations for group consolidation.
  • Consolidated Reporting: Preparation of group-level financial reports.
  • Group Treasury Management: Management of cash pooling and liquidity across the group.
  • Transfer Pricing: Establishment of arm's length pricing for inter-company transactions.
  • Group Tax Strategy & Compliance: Development of group tax strategies.
  • Intercompany Service Agreements: Drafting and maintenance of agreements for shared services.
  • Consolidated Cash Flow Forecasting: Preparation of group-level cash flow forecasts.
  • Group Risk Management: Identification and mitigation of group financial risks.
  • Capital Structure Management: Evaluation of group debt versus equity financing.
  • Debt Facility Management: Monitoring and reporting on group debt facilities.
  • One-Offs: Management of group consolidation and tax advisory projects.
  • Audit Coordination: Coordination of external audits for all entities.
  • M&A Due Diligence & Integration: Conduct of financial due diligence for group acquisitions.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Preparation of group financial reports for shareholders, board, and external stakeholders.
