Quality Assurance Specialist

Sandstone, a leading FinTech company in Australia, is seeking a Senior Software Tester to fill the position of Quality Assurance Specialist. The Role:
- Design and execute test plans and test cases to ensure the quality of our end-products through rigorous testing and validation.
- Analyze quality concerns via requirements review and product inspection to identify areas for improvement.
- Document defects and failure rates, perform root cause analysis, and communicate quality metrics in test reports to stakeholders.
About You:
- Strong analytical mindset with natural curiosity and ability to think outside the box, applying creative problem-solving skills to complex challenges.
- Able to learn quickly and adapt to new situations, embracing change and continuous learning.
- Experience leading a team or mentoring/coaching other testers, developing strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical resources, building strong relationships and fostering collaboration.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in manual testing (functional, non-functional, regression), with a focus on ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Designs test cases and test scripts under own direction, mapping back to pre-determined criteria and following established best practices.
- Follows agreed standards and techniques to devise and execute test cases and scenarios, ensuring thoroughness and effectiveness.
- Evaluates design options and prototypes to obtain user feedback on requirements, incorporating feedback into future development.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in writing SQLs using SQL Server 2019, leveraging database skills to support testing efforts.
- Experience in working in a financial services/lending business, applying domain knowledge to inform testing strategies.
- Experience or basic knowledge in automation, utilizing tools and technologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
