Job Description

This is a senior accounting role that focuses on general ledger management, financial reporting, and compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance and Controller to maintain accurate financial records, manage fixed assets, and drive timely cash applications.

The GL Accountant will be responsible for month-end close procedures, including preparing and posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and analyzing balance sheet and income statement accounts. Additionally, this role will involve coordinating with the Revenue / Receivables team, managing the entire fixed asset lifecycle, and ensuring proper elimination entries are made for consolidating multiple legal entities.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience as an in-house accounting professional, a completed university degree in accounting, and strong proficiency with NetSuite and Ramp. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and Google Sheets is also required.

Comprehensive familiarity with GAAP accounting and advanced proficiency in lease accounting are highly valued. The successful candidate must be dedicated to our mission and inspired by the opportunity to help advance education.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years' experience as an in-house accounting professional preparing month-end close reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts

  • A completed university degree in accounting; CPA (or similar international charter) preferred but not required

  • Strong proficiency with NetSuite and Ramp is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and Google Sheets is required.

  • Comprehensive familiarity with GAAP accounting; advanced proficiency in lease accounting is a plus but not required
