Procurement Specialist

The role of a procurement specialist involves sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies or equipment for an organization. Responsibilities include negotiating with suppliers, researching potential item selections and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, management or a related field is preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience is required.
  • Strong communication skills, leadership abilities and advanced computer skills are essential.
  • Personal attributes such as accuracy, organization, attention to detail, efficiency and quick follow-through are also desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify suitable suppliers and their offerings.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations, assess the validity and availability of products, and negotiate terms.
  • Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to facilitate the movement of goods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
