Job Summary: The Legal Director will oversee the legal department, providing strategic guidance to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves managing risks, advising on governance, negotiating contracts, and overseeing litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to support business goals while minimizing risk.
  • Advise leadership on governance, compliance, and regulatory matters.
  • Monitor and interpret new laws, regulations, and industry developments, ensuring the company remains compliant.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks across the organization. Develop policies and procedures to mitigate risks and enhance internal controls.

Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and best practices. Provide counsel on board matters, shareholder agreements, and related corporate issues.

Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents to protect the company's interests. Oversee the maintenance of a centralized contract repository for efficient management and tracking.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Manage and oversee litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution matters. Coordinate with external counsel when necessary, ensuring cost-effective and efficient management of cases.

Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the legal team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Allocate resources effectively to address priorities and ensure team success.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with regulatory bodies, law firms, and key stakeholders to address legal and compliance matters. Serve as the primary point of contact for legal and compliance-related inquiries.
