Key Responsibilities:- Adjudicate disability claims for eligibility of short and long-term benefits, reviewing and analyzing contractual, medical, functional, and occupational information.
- Coordinate appropriate interventions, including Independent Medical Evaluations, Functional Capacity Evaluations, Ergonomic assessments, Medical Consultant Opinions, Rehabilitation Consultant resources, and Consulting Mental Health Experts.
- Work collaboratively with insured employees, clients, lawyers, healthcare practitioners, and other stakeholders to obtain information, provide claim status, create action plans, and communicate verbal and written decisions while maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
- Conduct telephone interviews to obtain information to develop and maintain outcome-focused case management plans to support employees in their recovery and return to work.
- Identify and assess medical and non-medical influencing factors, functional capability, restrictions, and limitations.
- Build strong relationships with our clients: employers and their employees.
- Participate in face-to-face (virtual) client meetings.
- Engage in continuous learning about disability practices and tools.
- Degree in Nursing or any allied medical courses.
- At least 2 years related experience in disability case management.
- Strong BPO Healthcare experience.
- Proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications.
- Ability to multi-task, including the ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills with a passion for solving challenging situations.
- Customer service focus; demonstrating empathy, with outstanding communication and listening skills.
- Ability to prioritize work items in order to meet client service standards and Sun Life best practice guidelines.
- Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail with complex claims and contracts.
