Test Automation Engineer Position

About the Role:

You will apply your knowledge of automation frameworks and best practices to develop robust test automation solutions.

Work independently within our established automation framework to tackle challenging tasks, leveraging specialized testing principles and methodologies to design, develop, and execute comprehensive test automation scripts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop test planning and strategy to ensure comprehensive coverage and alignment with project goals.
  • Independently design, develop, and implement automated test strategies and test cases.
  • Use debugging techniques to identify root causes of complex issues uncovered through automated testing.
  • Accurately document bugs with essential details.
  • Manage and track changes in code repositories efficiently using version control (Git).
  • Utilize intermediate to advanced knowledge of programming languages to write test scripts or understand code for test automation.
  • Maintain high attention to detail to identify even minor issues.
  • Analyze root causes of defects found during testing and make recommendations to prevent similar problems.
  • Report issues effectively and collaborate with the development team.
  • Identify opportunities for automation within assigned testing areas and propose enhancements to the overall automation strategy.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Generate detailed test result reports and assist in maintaining the project knowledge base.
  • Participate in the analysis of current testing processes and suggest improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand deeper product requirements and ensure test coverage aligns with business goals.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience in software testing or a related field with a strong background in test automation.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of core testing principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with automated testing for web, mobile, and API applications.
  • Possesses strong programming skills in scripting languages relevant to test automation.
  • Experience using Playwright with BDD as a testing framework.
  • A proven track record of independently designing, developing, and maintaining effective test automation scripts.
  • Strong analytical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Availability to work under EST timezone.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of using Gherkin syntax for behavior-driven development (BDD).
