Senior Site Reliability Engineer Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production applications, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to optimize efficiency.

This is a challenging role that requires a strong background in systems engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Management: Manage applications on Windows and Unix/Linux servers, perform installations, modify configurations, and server maintenance.
  • Documentation and Procedures: Create documentation, diagrams, procedures, and turnover documents for supporting products.
  • Production Support: Ensure production applications run smoothly, addressing inefficiencies and service availability gaps.
  • Disaster Recovery and Testing: Architect and participate in Disaster Recovery testing.
  • Process Automation: Automate processes to achieve higher efficiencies.
  • Project and Task Updates: Work with business partners and development teams to provide project and task status updates.
  • System Readiness and Capacity Planning: Participate in annual system readiness, capacity planning, and provide recommendations to meet SLA's.
  • On-Call Rotation: Contribute to an On-Call rotation, providing off-hour support.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years' experience in SRE roles or functional leadership managing systems and applications.
  • Operating System Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Windows and RHEL/Unix operating systems.
  • Tier 3 Architecture: Understanding of tier 3 architecture design and concepts.
  • Scripting Languages: Experience automating processing using scripting languages like PowerShell and Python.
  • Software Familiarity: Familiarity with software such as IIS, Apache, WebSphere, Tomcat, and Microsoft clustering technologies.
  • Change Control and Incident Management: Experience with change control and incident management processes.
  • Automation Tools: Knowledge of Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, Terraform.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and provide root cause analysis and remediation.
