Job Opportunity

We are seeking a versatile and dependable finance professional to join our team on an independent contractor basis.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in accounts payable, invoicing, collections, reconciliation, and subscription management.

Proficiency in Dext, Stripe, GoCardless, Xero, and HubSpot is highly preferred.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Stepping in for absent team members to maintain operations without disruption.
  • Assisting with various finance-related tasks as required.
  • Answering inbound calls and making outbound calls when needed.
Accounts Payable
  • Process and manage supplier invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals in line with company policies.
  • Prepare and execute payment runs (EFT, etc.) while maintaining accurate transaction records.
  • Reconcile accounts payable balances and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian GST rules, including accurate GST coding and reporting.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes by providing AP-related reports and reconciliations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance AP efficiency.
Invoicing
  • Send invoices via Xero and HubSpot to customers after services have been rendered.
  • Initiate and send invoices for prepaid customers who wish to pay out early.
Subscription Management
  • Handle updates in Stripe and GoCardless subscriptions, including rescheduling payments, updating payment details, and retrying missed payments.
  • Manage auto-debit subscriptions and proactively address failures or cancellations to promptly reactivate them.
  • Create prepaid statements, completion letters, and other payment-related requests.
  • This role requires confidence in phone communication — taking calls, making calls, and delivering excellent customer service with the ability to convincingly encourage timely payments.
Collections & Reconciliation
  • Manage collections and follow up on overdue accounts professionally.
  • Reconcile transactions across payment platforms and bank accounts.
Technical Finance Skills
  • Strong Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Dext, Stripe, GoCardless, Xero, and HubSpot.
  • Ability to prepare and interpret finance reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Proven ability to improve processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Communication & Customer Service Skills
  • Confident and professional in phone communication — skilled in taking calls, making calls, and building rapport with customers.
  • Persuasive with a convincing and empathetic approach when discussing payments.
  • Able to handle sensitive conversations with tact and professionalism.
