Global Development Industry Correspondent

We're seeking an experienced reporter to join our team as a global development industry correspondent. This role involves covering the inside story of the industry, from big new projects and initiatives to leadership transitions, layoffs, mergers, and fundraising innovations.

You'll write exclusive stories, quick-hit news pieces, long-form features, and newsletters that are part of our email products. You'll present ideas at weekly editorial meetings, brief other reporters on key issues when needed, and contribute to panels and webinars.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cover the global development industry, identifying trends and breaking news
  • Write high-quality content for our audience, including news articles, feature stories, and newsletters
  • Develop a strong network of sources within the industry, including NGO CEOs, philanthropic donors, and government officials
  • Collaborate with other reporters, the production and multimedia team, and the social media engagement team
Requirements:
  • Experience as a beat reporter, preferably in the global development industry
  • A proven track record of breaking stories and delivering original reporting
  • A strong passion for global development, with the curiosity to dig into how the industry works
  • A native level of English with excellent written English
  • A bachelor's degree
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Familiarity with business and finance reporting
  • Experience working at a well-respected media organization
  • Comfortable moderating panels and webinars
