We are seeking an accomplished accounting professional to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations and providing expert guidance to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) for clients with precision and attention to detail.
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations and deadlines, guaranteeing timely submissions and minimizing penalties.
- Reconcile accounts and prepare comprehensive financial statements, delivering accurate and reliable data to stakeholders.
- Provide authoritative advice on GST, PAYG, and other tax-related matters, leveraging your expertise to drive informed business decisions.
- Assist clients with bookkeeping and accounting tasks, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
- Maintain meticulous and up-to-date financial records, ensuring seamless access to critical information.
- Liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients regarding BAS-related issues, advocating for their interests and resolving disputes efficiently.
- Develop and deliver training programs to clients on accounting software and BAS preparation, enhancing their proficiency and confidence.
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, applying this knowledge to drive strategic decision-making and optimize outcomes.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
- Proficiency in leading accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks, with expertise in utilizing these tools to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Deep understanding and experience of BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, and other tax obligations, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for staying ahead of regulatory changes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines with ease.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethics and conduct.
- Experience in XERO tax software for the preparation of company, individual, partnership and trust tax returns.
