Job Opportunity

As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for supporting project design, feasibility assessment, implementation, and long-term monitoring. This role requires the ability to analyze and model remote sensing and geospatial data for applications such as land cover/use mapping, fire risk assessment, above-ground biomass estimation, and deforestation risk modeling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support project development by providing technical expertise in remote sensing and GIS analysis
  • Analyze and interpret geospatial data to inform decision-making and support project implementation
  • Develop and implement automated workflows using cutting-edge technologies such as cloud computing, machine learning, and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, SQL)
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure geospatial quality control and provide technical guidance and training as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Environmental Science, Forestry, Computer Science or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in Remote Sensing & GIS
  • Expertise in workflow automation, machine learning/deep learning techniques for image classification and segmentation (Random Forest, Linear Regression, Artificial Neural Network)
  • Experience in advanced remote sensing analysis and modeling, including image processing and image classification
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of RS/GIS implementation for forestry, conservation, land use in AFOLU carbon projects
  • Familiarity with photogrammetry software (e.g., Pix4D, DroneDeploy, Agisoft)
  • Programming skills particularly in Python & Google Earth Engine
  • Familiarity with terms such as land cover, land use, and carbon project modeling
