Job Title: Variable Data Print Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Variable Data Print Specialist. This role focuses on creating and implementing variable data print (VDP) and cross-media marketing templates using XMPie software based on specifications from our systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Create VDP templates according to specifications provided through the ticket management system
  • Develop variable data templates for print, email, web, and mobile channels
  • Implement complex personalization rules, conditional logic, and dynamic content blocks
  • Build and configure ADOR (Automatic Dynamic Output Rules) for multi-channel campaigns
  • Set up data mappings between templates and customer databases or data sources
  • Process incoming tickets and interpret technical requirements, mockups, and brand guidelines
  • Configure variable elements including text, images, barcodes, QR codes, and charts
  • Ensure proper color management and print specifications for production-ready files
  • Perform thorough testing of all personalization logic and variable elements
  • Generate proof sets and conduct pre-flight checks before template release
  • Validate data merge accuracy and output across different channels
  • Troubleshoot template issues and resolve technical problems
  • Document template specifications and maintain version control
  • Monitor and prioritize tickets based on deadlines and business requirements
  • Communicate with project managers, designers, and stakeholders regarding ticket status
  • Provide time estimates for template creation and revisions
  • Maintain accurate ticket documentation and status updates
  • Collaborate with IT teams on data integration and API connections
  • Achieve precise execution and high-quality results in various projects
Necessary Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in XMPie software suite (uDirect, uCreate, uProduce, Circle)
  • Strong understanding of variable data printing concepts and workflows
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Understanding of database concepts and data file formats (CSV, XML, JSON)
  • Familiarity with SQL queries and data manipulation
  • 2+ years of experience creating XMPie templates or similar VDP solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, or similar)
  • Experience in print production, prepress, or marketing automation environments
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in technical work
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and logical thinking
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Capacity to interpret creative briefs and technical specifications

Preferrred Qualifications: XMPie certification or advanced training, experience with other VDP platforms, knowledge of postal regulations, marketing automation, and REST APIs
