The role of a Virtual Legal Assistant is crucial in providing administrative and client communication support within a Criminal Defense and Litigation practice. This position serves as a vital link between attorneys and clients, ensuring seamless communication and efficient case management.
Responsibilities:- Contact clients prior to court appearances to gather updates and provide reminders.
- Ensure clear and timely communication between the attorney and clients.
- Draft and distribute client letters; maintain regular client touchpoints.
- Explain case processes and legal updates in easy-to-understand terms.
- Utilize technology for call documentation and case updates.
- Manage appointments, calendars, and court dates to meet deadlines.
- Update and manage client records using Practice Panther.
- Follow up on billing, retainer fees, and accounts receivable with clients.
- Handle conflict notifications and ensure accurate records of court appearances.
- Experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or administrative professional in a law firm is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency with phone systems and ability to manage calendars with accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Professional, empathetic, and able to handle sensitive client interactions.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and remotely.
