Senior QA Automation Lead Job Description

As a senior quality assurance automation lead, you will oversee the development and implementation of testing strategies to ensure the reliability and performance of software products. You will drive automation initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor QA engineers to elevate QA standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing testing strategies, frameworks, and best practices across all projects.
  • Driving test planning, prioritization, and execution of both manual and automated testing across frontend, backend, and mobile systems.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the automation framework, testing tools, and CI/CD integrations to support continuous testing.
  • Reviewing test results and quality metrics, preparing leadership-level reports and recommendations for quality improvements and risk mitigation.
  • Mentoring QA engineers and fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous learning within the QA team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 5+ years experience in both manual and automation testing and at least 1 year experience in leading a team.
  • Development and execution of test plans and scenarios.
  • Experience in writing automated tests in Selenium, Cypress, and Appium, Robot Framework.
  • Testing complex GUIs, APIs, and platforms.
  • Source control management like Git, Bitbucket, etc.
