Job Title: Tax Support SpecialistJob Overview:

The Tax Support Specialist will provide comprehensive tax assistance to clients in the areas of compliance, payroll taxes, W2/YE balancing, and client communication.

This role involves responding to customer inquiries, assessing health risks, reviewing payroll commits for employee taxation accuracy, processing payroll tax adjustments, conducting monthly audits, assisting with pre-funding requests, reviewing W-4 Form exemptions, staying up-to-date on tax changes, and ensuring alignment with customers. Additionally, this position includes performing quarterly and year-end audits, reviewing tax code fallouts, reconciling withheld deposits, processing amendments promptly, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring timely W-2Cs processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and accurate tax support to clients.
  • Assess customer health risks using defined processes.
  • Review and audit payroll commits for employee taxation accuracy.
  • Process payroll tax adjustments with customers and internal teams.
  • Conduct monthly audits to ensure wages and rates are accurate.
  • Assist clients with pre-funding requests for stock transactions.
  • Review W-4 Form exemptions monthly for reasonability checks.
  • Stay current on tax and compliance changes.
  • Perform quarterly and year-end audits to balance clients' and employees' taxes.
  • Review tax code fallouts weekly and reconcile any withheld deposits.
  • Process amendments promptly with customers and internal partners.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure timely W-2Cs processing.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in payroll tax, human resources, or payroll administration.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in business, tax, human resources, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • FPC or CPP certification is required or commitment to obtain within two years of employment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and ability to work individually and in a team environment.
