Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tax compliance, financial statement preparation, and trust distribution minutes. They will be responsible for preparing and lodging individual income tax returns, business activity statements, installment activity statements, fringe benefits tax returns, and bookkeeping tasks.

A strong understanding of accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks is essential. Additionally, the successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and lodge individual income tax returns, business activity statements, installment activity statements, and fringe benefits tax returns.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare monthly management reports (P&L and balance sheet) for clients from their accounting platforms.
  • Trust Distribution Minutes: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of trust distribution minutes.
  • Bookkeeping: Perform bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and account maintenance.
  • Accounting Software: Utilize accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks to manage client accounts and perform tasks.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with junior accountants to review work prepared and provide feedback and guidance as needed.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in tax compliance, financial statement preparation, and trust distribution minutes.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulations.
