The Role of a Commercial Portfolio Associate / Senior Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Portfolio Associate / Senior Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in commercial loan servicing and collections activities, supporting a team of Portfolio Managers in borrower research, collection efforts, and related servicing tasks for commercial real estate loans.

This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and be self-motivated. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, contribute to a positive team morale, and be eager to learn.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist Portfolio Manager to monitor all delinquent commercial loans and pursue a course of action to resolve the delinquency.
  • Perform daily customer service activities via handling of outbound calls with borrowers and/or third-party representatives.
  • Maintain service levels and call center performance metrics – Schedule Adherence and Attendance/Availability.
  • Support Portfolio Manager in clearance of surveillance-related activities including Tax, Insurance, Escrow Analysis, Suspense and Task management.
  • Obtain required documentation for borrower special requests (e.g., assumptions, easements, partial releases) and submit for review with detailed recommendations for approval.
  • Identify and escalate significant property issues to the Portfolio Manager.
  • Collect and assist in analyzing property operating statements and rent rolls as part of Watchlist monitoring and collateral review.
  • Coordinate with internal departments for management of portfolio.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in the mortgage industry.
  • Demonstrates positive attitude, contributes to a positive team morale, and is eager to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Open to college undergraduates with 6 months Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) experience preferable in collections.
