Digital Workplace Software Engineer

As a senior software engineer, you will design and deliver web-based systems and SAAS that empower colleagues, managers, and executives to make better decisions and deliver better work.

You will provide new insights into the Canonical workplace experience, enable new processes, and improve existing workflows. You will collaborate proactively with a distributed team, write high-quality code, debug issues, and produce high-quality code to fix them.

Key responsibilities include designing and delivering web-based systems and SAAS, providing new insights into the Canonical workplace experience, enabling new processes, improving existing workflows, collaborating proactively with a distributed team, writing high-quality code, debugging issues, producing high-quality code to fix them, consistently providing high-quality code reviews to other engineers, discussing ideas, collaborating on finding good solutions, estimating work, setting goals, meeting them, writing project specifications, understanding risks, understanding completion criteria, pushing work to completion, coaching, mentoring, providing feedback to more junior members of the team, while always developing yourself.

Requirements: Expertise in two or more of the following: backend web service programming in Python and Node.JS, solid understanding of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, data analytics and statistical analysis, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, machine learning, and data visualisation.
