Job Overview

The Revenue Accountant plays a critical role in the finance department, ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition. This position manages the operational and technical aspects of revenue recognition, including reviewing customer contracts, performing revenue allocations, maintaining revenue schedules, and supporting monthly and quarterly closes.

This role requires an individual with solid accounting experience, keen attention to detail, and effective communication skills to work with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

  • Assist in monthly revenue accounting close activities by preparing journal entries and performing key account reconciliations.
  • Review standard and non-standard contracts to determine the appropriate revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP, ensuring compliance.
  • Manage and maintain NetSuite ARM to ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition.
  • Drive automation efforts to streamline revenue accounting operations and improve monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer success, revenue operations, and FP&A to obtain data and reporting for monthly revenue entries.
  • Develop and maintain internal process documentation for clarity and efficiency across teams.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or ACCA/CIMA qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in SaaS revenue accounting.
  • Proficiency with ERP and revenue tools (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Identify and analyze financial trends and variances to inform business decisions.

Process Improvement

  • Design and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive automation efforts and improve revenue accounting operations.
