About the Role

Our organization seeks an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to lead onboarding and cleanup projects, mentor junior team members, and own standard operating procedure upkeep—ensuring that financial operations remain robust and reliable. Key responsibilities include reviewing and ensuring the quality of junior bookkeeper outputs, leading accounts payable and receivable processes, managing onboarding and cleanup workflows for new client accounts, maintaining and enhancing standard operating procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Output Quality Assurance: Review and ensure the quality of junior bookkeeper outputs.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Lead AP and AR processes: invoice preparation, approval flows, reconciliation.
  • Client Onboarding: Manage onboarding and cleanup workflows for new client accounts.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Maintain and enhance SOPs, checklists, and process documentation.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal standards.
  • Mentorship: Train and coach junior bookkeepers, serving as escalation contact.
Competencies and Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Financial Expertise: Deep understanding of US GAAP, full-cycle bookkeeping, and financial cleanup.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and process adherence.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership capability and mentoring experience.
  • Process Improvement: Track record of creating or refining SOPs and efficient workflows.
