Staff Accountant Job Description

The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple portfolio companies, maintaining full-cycle accounting and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. Responsibilities include record journal entries, perform account reconciliations, prepare financial statements, manage AP/AR, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and assist with budget preparation.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or progress toward CPA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-client environment
  • Proficiency with NetSuite ERP required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a private equity or investment firm environment
  • Familiarity with consolidations and intercompany transactions
  • Advanced Excel skills
