Senior Platform Engineering Expert

• Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to automate platform infrastructure provisioning and deployment, ensuring seamless integration with development workflows and operational scalability.
2. Ongoing Platform Health and Performance Monitoring: Own the operational health and performance of both production and pre-production environments. Regularly monitor platform health metrics and optimize resources to ensure platform availability, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
3. Ephemeral Environment Management: Build, maintain, and support ephemeral environments for development, testing, and QA. Automate provisioning and decommissioning of these environments to ensure efficient use of resources and minimize operational overhead.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, development, and product teams to ensure platform services are aligned with development needs. Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and enhance collaboration throughout the development lifecycle.
5. Incident Response and Root Cause Analysis: Utilize monitoring tools to quickly respond to incidents, leading root cause analysis, resolving performance issues, and implementing preventative measures.
6. Security and Compliance: Ensure platform infrastructure adheres to security policies and compliance standards. Collaborate with security teams to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities, proactively implementing fixes and introducing new tools or methodologies to enhance team performance and platform reliability.
7. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain high-quality documentation for platform processes, including contribution guides, incident handling procedures, and operational best practices. Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team, ensuring clarity and consistency.
8. Mentorship: Support the development of junior engineers by providing guidance and mentorship in technical skills, troubleshooting methodologies, and platform engineering best practices.
9. Platform Optimization: Regularly assess platform infrastructure to identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction, ensuring the platform remains efficient, scalable, and responsive to business needs.

• You'll bring at least 8 years of experience as a DevOps, Site Reliability, or Platform Engineer to this role.
• Your technical expertise includes proven backgrounds in Kubernetes, IaC, monitoring tools, and Docker.
