Market and Liquidity Risk Specialist

Safeguarding a bank's stability is a critical responsibility, one that requires a comprehensive approach to risk management.

The ideal candidate for this role will have expertise in monitoring key risks, preparing reports for committees, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes developing and reviewing risk management policies and procedures, integrating risk responses into business processes, and maintaining tools and policies for effective risk management across the bank.

A key aspect of this role is managing the Risk Model Framework, including developing risk models and management tools, ensuring effective implementation of the Risk Management Framework, and periodically testing the predictive ability of risk models.

  • Oversee risk management by monitoring key risks and preparing reports for committees.
  • Develop and review risk management policies and procedures.
  • Manage the Risk Model Framework, including developing risk models and management tools.
  • Foster people development through training programs and role-specific development plans.
  • Maintain good risk governance by regularly assessing compliance with regulations.

For success in this role, relevant banking experience in Market and Liquidity Risk is essential, typically 2-8 years depending on the job grade. Proficiency in data and analytics tools such as Excel, VBA, R, SAS, Python, and Power BI is also required. Additionally, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to learn and apply new skills swiftly are necessary.
