Risk Governance Director


This role is responsible for the effective oversight of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across Corporate Functions.


About the Role:

The Risk Governance Organization is looking for a seasoned professional to join a diverse team focused on embedding risk awareness and proactivity in daily operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and challenge first-line risk management practices to ensure risks are managed effectively and in compliance with regulatory expectations
  • Analyze business processes to identify risks, control gaps, and emerging risks
  • Develop and refine risk policies, standards, and procedures
  • Apply the enterprise risk management framework across Corporate Functions
  • Embed risk management practices into daily operations and decision-making
  • Track and analyze key risk indicators (KRIs) and provide insights on risk trends
  • Contribute to risk reporting for senior management, risk committees, and regulatory engagements
  • Maintain understanding of regulations and industry expectations to navigate compliance requirements
  • Participate in risk governance forums, working groups, and committee meetings
  • Conduct risk assessments, scenario analyses, and deep dives to evaluate controls

Requirements:
  • Experience in risk management, preferably in a second-line function in financial services
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks, regulatory environments, and industry best practices
  • Ability to assess and challenge first-line risk practices independently
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to translate risk concepts into actionable insights
  • Proven ability to build partnerships and influence stakeholders across the organization
  • Strong understanding of operational and regulatory risks
  • Proficiency in risk management tools, data analysis, and reporting systems
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with actionable insights
