Project Manager for AI Data Operations

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact AI data projects on time and within budget. Your expertise in project management will enable you to drive efficiency through automation, process improvements, and effective communication with stakeholders.

The Role's Impact

  • Drive project delivery: Meet scope, schedule, and budget targets across multiple concurrent AI data projects.
  • Boost efficiency: Implement automated reporting, surface KPIs, and drive process improvements that cut cycle times and costs.
  • Maintain client satisfaction: Foster open communication and documentation to keep stakeholders informed about project status, risks, and next steps.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project execution from scoping and task-template creation through annotation, model-pipeline setup, QA, and deployment hand-off.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams: engineers, annotators, data scientists, GTM leads, and client stakeholders.
  • Develop and automate workflows: create Asana projects, script Python/SQL jobs for metrics and QC checks, and maintain artefacts like SOWs, RACI charts, risk registers, and knowledge-base pages.
  • Track and report KPIs: timelines, throughput, quality, margin, and resource utilisation—dashboards in Looker, Power BI, or Streamlit.
  • Drive continuous improvement: identify bottlenecks, run retrospectives, and implement SOP updates that scale to the next project.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years managing technical projects or operations in data, AI, or software domains.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum or Kanban workflows (JIRA, Asana, Linear, or similar).
  • Proven record of delivering projects with distributed or remote-first teams.
  • Ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Core Skills Needed

  • Project management excellence: scoping, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Lightweight scripting: Python or similar for automation, data manipulation, and report generation.
  • SQL and dashboards: querying data warehouses and building KPI views.
  • Tool familiarity: annotation platforms (Label Studio, Labelbox) and cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Process mindset: designing SOPs/playbooks and iterating quickly based on feedback.

Nice to Have: MLOps exposure, experience with LLM-driven automation, or knowledge of security/compliance requirements in data operations.
